Mexican Evening Primrose

This heat tolerant spreading perennial has small green leaves and produces carpets of delicate light to dark pink flowers each spring. If the plant takes damage from the frost, prune heavily and new foliage will regenerate from underground stems. Plant in full sun for the best flowering, but evening primrose can handle light shade. Plants can be invasive in lawns or where water is readily available. Birds love the seeds produced after the plants flower.
