Coral Penstemon is a beautiful variety that shoots up flower spikes almost 6 feet tall. Native to canyons of New Mexico and Arizona from 3000 to 5000 feet high. Hummingbirds love it’s tall spikes of coral tubular flowers. It blooms in spring time depending on how warm of an area it is planted in. After it blooms, you can cut back the stalks to clean up the plant so the foliage looks tighter. Good drainage is a must for this and almost all other penstemons. Very cold hardy, plant anywhere except the highest elevations in Southern Nevada.
