Firecracker is a gorgeous Penstemon with intense red flowers and glossy green leaves. It is a native to the washes and slopes in the southwest from 2000 to 7000 feet in elevation. Firecracker penstemon starts blooming from February to April attracting lots of pollinators. Plants do best in full sun but also can handle some shade. Good drainage is a must for this and almost all other penstemons. Avoid over-watering
