Texas Pistache

Texas Pistache is a hardy tree native to Southern Texas and northern Mexico.  It is very rare in Southern Nevada and it can be grown as a single or multi-trunk tree.  It will grow to about 15-20 feet tall and wide, but can get up to 40 feet with deep water and amended soil. This tree will probably stay evergreen in Las Vegas and Laughlin except in the coldest winters. It will be deciduous in the colder parts of the state and can be grown in USDA zone 8 or higher. New growth is bronze, eventually turning green as it matures. Texas Pistache is heat, drought and salt tolerant, but it must have good drainage.
